The “Sf. loan cel Nou" Monastery is a complex located in the centre of the city and was raised in time. First Sf. Gheorghe Church was started in 1514 by Bogdan III and finished by his son, Stefanita in 1520. Then other buildings, the bell tower and the abbey were built between 1589 and 1896.

From 1866 to 1896, the monastery depended on the Dragomirna Monastery.
